About Us

McDAVITT QUARTER HORSES has been in operation at the same location north of Indianapolis. Indiana for over 40 years. It is owned and operated by Duane McDavitt, D.V.M. and his wife Beverly. They moved to this location on 146th Street 3 miles west of Highway 31 and 5 miles east ofHighway 421 in 1968 and built Maplecrest Equine Clinic (a veterinary clinic specializing in horses) and two barns. In 2014, the house, small barn and clinic were torn down to widen 146th street between Springmill and Ditch roads. The large barn which has an indoor areana and 17 horse stalls and a large outdoor arena remain and are currently being used. The farm currently has a limited number of stalls available for boarding. In 2009 Maplecrest Equine Clinic moved to McDAVITT VETERINARY CLINIC: 1/2 mile east of Highway 421 on State Road 32 (north side), which is owned by Duane's son, Bruce McDavitt, D. V.M. and his wife Donna McDavitt, D.V.M. Call 317-769-6094.

Duane has raised, owned and shown American Quarter Horses for over 40years and raised, trained and showed STEPAHEAD to be an AQHAChampion, an AQHA Superior Halter Horse and an AQHA Superior Western Pleasure Horse. He has been active in and a past president of the Indiana Quarter Horse Association and has been an AQHA Director from Indiana and is currently serving as an AQHA Honorary Vice President. He was also inducted into the Indiana Livestock Breeders Association Hall of Fame.

Duane and Beverly have 3 children all of whom have shown in AQHA Youth Activity and Open classes.
